Inspire them young

My daughter already knows she wants to write stories, I did not entertain the possibility of this idea at her tender age of almost ten. Our parents came from era that you should acquire a sensible career it was a different world back then. My child says it confidently “I want to be a writer too, like you Mum.” She believes I am already a writer because in her world it is that simple, I am writing. I need to take the same beliefs and begin with those simple words I am a writer: maybe for you it is, I am an artist, actor or even a rock star.                                                             I  encourage my children to keep diaries with all their ideas, I wish I had      started one at ten, being blessed with a wild imagination the diary would be an interesting read now. This is a picture of a drawing my eldest showed me yesterday. A creature from one of her many stories he is a mix between a  piranha, a devil and a lion (Predeville).

DSCN0801 Inspire creativity, encourage and nurture your children’s unique abilities and most of all let them:

Be what they want to be.

Don’t let one more day pass you by, start now! Doing what you always dreamed of doing. Share with me what you use to say with confidence                                  “I want to be a writer when I grow up!”

What about you?

About Minuscule Moments

Everybody has a DREAM. Today is the first day of the rest of my writing life. Its a lonely world out there when you are learning the craft. This year, as the same as last year, I want to finish my first children's picture book. I have learn't many wonderful lessons on this journey. You are never too old to learn.

    • Amy your site is amazing, thank you for saying such lovely words it will make my daughters day. She has not finished any of her stories, all ideas in progress. She has diaries with sketches of all kinds of monsters and their powers, her sketches and ideas are evolving into something special and hopefully one day she will finish one. Thanks for the comments. My daughter will be encouraged to keep going when she reads this.

Imagine if everyone had the same sense of confidence, and the freedom to be what they wanted to be drilled into their minds when they were young. The world would be a much happier place I bet. Better late than never though, I don’t want to be one of those people who realise at their deathbed that they wasted their life doing things they didn’t love doing 🙂
