Attention to Detail

Are you a person in the moving crowd standing still, silent and absorbing the world around you? Does the artist, notice the little things which others walk past or stomp over? It is not their fault, they were not designed to appreciate nature, or treasure the rainbow of colours dappled along the busy highway we call a life.

I love that part of the day when everything softens in a golden light. I see the world in many hues especially after painting, everything around me is fodder for my next creative outlet. Whether it be writing, painting or photography. I am swept up in the flight of an eagle soaring high in the clouds or watching a lady-beetle crawl in between my toes. It is all useful material I gather to place in the back ground of my stories.

For a long time I thought it a waste of time, yet my passion for people watching never went aImageway. I listen to conversations and store certain bits for my characters. Human nature is fascinating and forever changing.

Consider this, we are the lucky ones, this is your opportunity to express yourself and tell your story with a richness and clarity drawn from real life observations. For those of you not quite there yet, take another look at your world what do you see? How could you capture it in your own style. Appreciate what is around your daily life.

As I begin to unleash the writer inside I give thanks there are people like me all over the globe who record the moments in time captivated by the simple pleasure of being alive. I dare you to share your findings with the world and help them to see what we see.

About Minuscule Moments

Everybody has a DREAM. Today is the first day of the rest of my writing life. Its a lonely world out there when you are learning the craft. This year, as the same as last year, I want to finish my first children's picture book. I have learn't many wonderful lessons on this journey. You are never too old to learn.

  1. Kath, thank you, thank you for sharing, it keeps dreams alive and reminds us of the richness in life. Your recount either through words or your art show us how to see everything as if were all equal; that is how the smallest things, the forgotten, the beaten up, everyday…things, feed our spirit and keep us strong. xoxo

I observe too, but all the observing gets overwhelming, and I have to pull myself back. I have yet to put it to any constructive use, or share how I view the world the way you’ve managed to 🙂 thank you for another lovely post!
