Draft of Sugar and Spice

Share your dreams and they become larger than life.

I had so much fun reading the suggestions for my kitten’s name, I want to thank all my dedicated readers for sending in their ideas. I am amazed at how many good ones I received, there were so many sweet names, it was difficult to choose.

In the end I decided on SPICE.

Thank you Christine for your original and FUN idea. I have not been reading Christine’s site very long. She wrote a beautiful poem, you can read it here about her grandchild. Please go over and leave a comment. http://journeyintopoetry.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/for-theodore-aged-3/

She is a very inspiring woman and I am thankful to have met Christine and many other unique artists from across the seas. It is a lonely old world out in dairy country and I love this blogging community it is my escape into a realm I never knew existed. A place where talented individuals share their journey and keep me grounded but hopeful.

NEW TITLE

Now I have a new title for the picture book. SUGAR and SPICE

My illustrations have come a long way, when I look back at my first stiff mud brown cow. Sugar is now bright orange and I know the children will love what she and Spice get up to at the fair. It just goes to show the more you put your ideas out there the more people can help and inspire you, don’t be afraid to show others your dreams, as long as you pick the right people to support you, what a fabulous fun experience.

It is also amusing how a side kick character can move to the front of a story and share in the spotlight.

Wishing you all a very safe and happy easter. Thank you again for the input please tell me about a time when you dared sharing something and what was the outcome?

About Minuscule Moments

Everybody has a DREAM. Today is the first day of the rest of my writing life. Its a lonely world out there when you are learning the craft. This year, as the same as last year, I want to finish my first children's picture book. I have learn't many wonderful lessons on this journey. You are never too old to learn.

  1. Hi Kath, I’m guessing you already know about this Australian-based contest but just in case:

    • Thanks Marianne I did see it but the word count is only 400 words, my Sugar and Spice story is around 600 and I cannot seem to cut it any further. Not meant to be. But thanks for thinking of me.

  2. Sheila says:

That’s a great one and it goes perfectly with Sugar! I’m guessing the kitten’s personality might take over more with a name like Spice.

  3. Perfect name! Look forward to hearing more about it as it comes along. I’m soon to put out a two stories where Pepi (the main character) shares the limelight with a mate. It is certainly a different dynamic in the storytelling, when there are two characters vying for attention!

  4. Love it Kath. Sugar and Spice. Amazing how your book progressed from that very first draft. You go girl. This one is a winner.

  5. Kath, your artwork is truly wonderful. I love the title: Sugar and Spice. Keep going–you’re doing it!

    Blessings ~ Wendy
